The North East Monsoon has started in Tamilnadu from 29th October 2022, So  there is a possibility of heavy rains and floods or storms ,Tiruvarur District, Delta District around Thiruthuraipoondi Block people are affected by floods and storms every year during monsoon.

It is an area inhabited mostly by agricultural laborers who all live in thatched huts. They are unable to maintain thatched huts on their meager income from daily wage labor. So, Tarpaulin must be provided to the houses/huts during this continuous monsoon season as rainwater enters the house/huts through the roofs and becomes uninhabitable.

Due to floods the agricultural laborers cannot arrange and buy rice packages and grocery items. In this scenario there is also a need to arrange basic eatables for the laborers.
