Safe Haven for Girls and Women

Constructing a 2-Story hostel for Education-Seeking Women from Rural and Adivasi Areas

Description

Girls and women from rural and adivasi areas often face difficulties in accessing education due to a lack of safe and comfortable accommodation near educational institutions. Many of these girls and women are forced to drop out of school or college due to the unavailability of suitable accommodation. This hinders their education and ultimately limits their potential for growth and development.

‘Safe Haven for Girls & Women’  project is supported by the Panpalia Foundation  to provide  safe and comfortable accommodation to 126 girls and women from Indian rural and adivasi areas who come to Airoli,Mumbai for education. The project will involve the construction of a 2-story hostel that will cater exclusively to the accommodation needs of girls and women.

The hostel will be equipped with basic amenities such as water supply, electricity, and sanitation facilities. Basic furniture such as beds, tables, and chairs will also be provided to ensure a comfortable living environment.

The budget for the project is 50 lakhs, and it will be constructed in Airoli, Mumbai. By providing access to suitable accommodation, the project will enable these girls and women to pursue their education and achieve their full potential.

The construction of this hostel is a crucial step towards promoting gender equality and empowering women from disadvantaged backgrounds. By providing safe and affordable accommodation to education-seeking women, the project aims to break the cycle of poverty and enable women to become self-sufficient and economically independent.
