Miraclefeet aims to set up a pan India clubfoot program so that children have access to quality clubfoot treatment within their district and overcome disability due to clubfoot. 

Miraclefeet partners along with the government to implement the clubfoot program. We set up clinics at district hospitals for the program. Miraclefeet clinics are present in 8 states- Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Mizoram, Nagaland, Tripura, Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra. Currently we have 84 clinics and 73 districts and are aiming to set up additional 43 clinics in the states. 

Our program aims to do the following: 

• Set up weekly clubfoot clinic day(s) in government and/or charitable hospitals to ensure that parents of children with clubfoot have access at a reasonable distance and time. 

• Train healthcare providers in the Ponseti method for treating clubfoot. Orthopaedic doctors who have years of global experience provide training. 

• We leverage government health system like the RBSK team and community health workers for awareness, identification and subsequent referral of clubfoot affected children to our clinics. 

• Provide counselling to patient families to ensure treatment adherence and dropout prevention. We provide counselling in-clinic, telephonically and through home visits. 

• We provide free foot abduction braces that have been designed in partnership with Stanford University’s Design School. Braces are an essential aspect of the maintenance phase of the treatment.  

Through these we aim to set a stable clubfoot program in the states so that children can receive quality treatment. 

Clubfoot is a birth defect of the feet wherein one or both the feet are turned inwards. It is the largest cause of disability in children in the developing world. 

In India, every year approximately 33,000 are born with clubfoot and less that 15% of them have access to quality treatment. Lack of access is attributed to non- availability of treatment centres, trained doctors, lack of awareness that clubfoot is treatable and treatment supplies amongst others. 

When left untreated, clubfoot can be extremely painful and causes stigma, loss of education and employment opportunities and lifelong poverty.

Clubfoot can however very easily be treated by the Ponseti Method- an effective, inexpensive, minimally invasive form of treatment, well suited to low resource settings. The Ponseti Method is effective in more than 95% of the cases when done correctly.
